I’m not exactly sure how Verizon was able to swing this by Apple and actually get it approved assuming they did let Apple know about this. In response to locationgate, the company has taken it upon themselves to place these stickers on the devices:
“This device is capable of determining its (and your) physical, geographical location and can associate this location data with other customer information. To limit access to location data by others please refer to the User Guide for location settings and be cautious when downloading, accessing or using applications and services.”
I’m sure they are just being proactive to not be involved with any lawsuits that would arise because of locationgate. Apple is currently taking some heat as iOS devices apparently keeps a database information of your location. They have since responded and clarified the issue.
We’ll see how long until the Apple haters keep pushing the issue. As for Verizon’s attempt, what do you have to say about it?
